How to use it
- Drop the PDF and pick the page from the thumbnails.
- Draw, type or upload your signature and press “Use this signature”, then click “Place signature” and click on the page.
- Adjust position and size with the handles. Add the date and any text the same way.
- Press “Save signed PDF” and download. The original file is left untouched.
Example
A 3-page lease on A4: a drawn signature of 420 × 140 px is placed on page 3 at the default width of 30 % of the page, i.e. 179 × 60 pt, the date “2026-10-19” in 12 pt next to it. The saved PDF grows by roughly 15 KB (the PNG) plus a few hundred bytes for the text, keeps 3 pages, and the date can be selected and searched in any viewer.
How the signature is made and placed
The drawing pad records pointer positions with pressure and renders smoothed quadratic segments whose width scales with pressure; the export crops the canvas to the ink plus an 8 px margin. Typed signatures are rendered at 64 px with the font stacks “Brush Script MT / Segoe Script / Snell Roundhand”, “Lucida Handwriting / Bradley Hand / Segoe Print” or italic Georgia – whichever is installed on your device. Uploaded images are scaled to at most 1200 px; pixels with an average brightness above 230 become transparent and those between 210 and 230 fade, which keeps anti-aliased pen edges.
Pages are shown with pdf.js on a Konva canvas; on save, pdf-libcopies the pages and converts each item from display coordinates to the page’s user space (honouring the page’s /Rotate), drawing the signature with drawImage and date/text with drawText in Helvetica.
Limits
- No digital certificate, timestamp or audit trail – use a qualified e-signature service when the law requires one.
- Form fields are not filled; the signature sits on top of the page content and can be removed by anyone with an editor.
- Text outside Latin-1 is embedded as an image rather than selectable text.

Questions
- Is a signature made here legally valid?
- Often yes for everyday agreements: eIDAS and the ESIGN Act recognise simple electronic signatures, and an image of your handwritten signature is one. It is not an advanced or qualified signature – for those, or when a counterparty requires a certificate, use a dedicated e-signature service.
- Where are my remembered signatures stored?
- In your browser's localStorage on this device only, as PNG data. Clear them with the × button or by clearing site data. They are never uploaded.
- My uploaded signature has a grey box around it.
- The photo background was darker than the threshold. Retake it in even light on white paper, or increase the contrast in an image editor, then upload again with "Make the white background transparent" ticked.
- Can I sign every page at once?
- Yes – tick "Put the signature on every page at the same spot" before placing it. Each copy can still be moved or removed individually afterwards.
